Description
This project is about a mobile youth center that is part of our organisation, which offers activities for young people in local surroundings as well as on international cooperation. We offer a variety of activities for our target group, such as creative, sports, crafts, cooking and educational workshops. The main goal is to provide free time activities throughout which we make a stable and trustworthy connection with kids and youngsters. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
We provide an apartment very close to the project. You will have your own bedroom and shared common spaces with other volunteers. It will be provided with the equipment for comfortable living such as a complete kitchen, full bedroom and home furniture, central heating and Wi-Fi. For meal during work, you will have the opportunity to use the kitchen in office. A monthly grant of money about 500€ will be given (including food, transportation (monthly ticket for public transport in the city) and pocket money). You will have an option to use a bike as well.
Training during the activity
You will be offered annual access to the Online Linguistic Support platform to improve your German skills. An option to attend a language school course may be offered during the year (two courses). You will participate in an On-arrival and Mid-term training seminar, organised by the German National Agency. Also, we will offer you support during the volunteer year, with meetings with your mentor. Also, the staff of the project will provide extra support and will guide you more specifically throughout the daily activities.
Participant profile
We are looking for one motivated volunteer, able to adapt to different tasks, cultures, situations and to work in the team but also independently. The volunteer should be a person with interest to learn about project development, work of a social organisation and direct work with youngsters. Interests or knowledge in creative fields such as design, sport or activeness are appreciated. Most of the activities are in the afternoon shift but must be flexible and be available for the different project schedules. Good skills in English are required, and at least basic in German is appreciated.
