Join Art Center Karnolsky in Bulgaria for an inspiring volunteering experience that brings together young people who want to live in harmony with nature and contribute to their community. Volunteers will take part in environmental and creative activities in Kardzhali, supporting eco-initiatives, educational workshops, and community actions with children and young people. Volunteers will be joining a dynamic international team involved in eco-initiatives, workshops, and community events. Activities include organising and participating in clean-up campaigns, tree planting, recycling and upcycling workshops, awareness events in schools and youth centers The project promotes solidarity, sustainability, and intercultural learning, giving volunteers the chance to grow personally while supporting positive change in the local environment. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will be provided with safe and decent accommodation arranged by the host organisation, ensuring suitable living conditions throughout their stay. Food allowance will be covered as part of the organisational support, so that daily living costs are fully supported. Local transport to and from project activities will be arranged or reimbursed, and travel to Bulgaria will be funded according to the European Solidarity Corps distance and green travel rules!

Training during the activity

Volunteers will take part in the standard ESC training cycle, including pre-departure preparation, on-arrival training, mid-term evaluation, and an annual event. They will also receive language support through Online Language Support (OLS) or other tools, as well as ongoing mentorship and supervision from the host organisation. The training is designed to enhance personal development, intercultural learning, and practical skills, helping volunteers make the most of their experience and supporting their future opportunities..

Participant profile

The project seeks young people aged 18 - 29 who are fluent in English and eager to engage in meaningful community activities. Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in ecology, music, arts, and working with children, combined with motivation to learn and contribute to intercultural exchange. While no professional experience is required, volunteers should demonstrate openness, creativity, and adaptability, as well as enthusiasm for teamwork and solidarity.
