Description

The project will try to support different associations, schools, municipallities and stakeholders contributing to the recovery of the areas and regions affected by Dana in 2024. that need our help. Thre will be a wide diverse of activities to develope that might be phisical , artistical, educational or social- This group develope cultural activities with volunteers coming from Japan , so a knowledge of Japaneses language and culture will be an added value. We will also undertake agricultural work and part of the veggies will be distributed in Dana neighbourhoods. Additionally, there will be occasional educational activities with children, reconstructing activities and visits to senior centers or other social events to support the community organizations in the area, to complete 6-7 working hours a day. 2 days per week will be free.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

In the first part of the project Volunteers will stay in a volunteer house, Casa Jazmin in Sanet Alicante, with three rooms with several bunkbeds and bathrooms. They will share rooms with four to six other volunteers. The house includes a nice kitchen in which the volunteers will cook for themselves in the guidance of the camp leaders. The organization will provide pillows sheets and covers if asked. La Casa Jazmín is recently renovated but there are always some pending tasks to complete and volunteers may be asked to do some work. It can happen to be localted in other places close to Valencia

Training during the activity

This is a project of experiences in some cases with commited, special and vulnerable people. It provides the occasion to increase key competences that are necessary for youth to become active citizens and to improve their educational and employment prospects. It will involved volunteers in activities based on non-formal education, involving people on a voluntary basis, providing youngsters with opportunities to acquire a wide range of skills (personal, professional, and intercultural) through planned non-formal and informal activities.

Participant profile

Only volunteers with MOTIVATION STATEMENT will be accepted with information about your skills in Spanish Language, Japaneses Language/cultur, driving liceses and any other skills that makes you special for thisproject. We are looking for VERY COMPROMISED and active young people who want to participate in a project focused on development and social/mental reconstruction after a natural disaster. Volunteers need to understand that they are at a service in many cases with vuilnerable people. Basic English and Spanish (the higher the better) is needed. Japaneses language is welcome. Also, a driving licence is valued.
