The power of together

Spring Garden

Szatyor Közösség a Környezettudatos Életmód Támogatásáért Egyesület

Etyek, Hungary

Description

Get your hands in the soil and be part of an international community! Join us in transforming and caring for our permaculture garden where nature, creativity and cooperation meet. Through practical activities like planting, building, renovating and small DIY projects, you will help shape a living space that benefits both people and the environment. Along the way, you’ll gain hands-on experience in permaculture and sustainability, exchange ideas, and learn how simple actions can create lasting impact. The project is also about connection and celebration: we will open the garden to the local community, share food, exchange seedlings and stories, and celebrate Easter together by discovering Hungarian traditions while sharing your own. If you are curious, motivated and eager to learn, contribute and celebrate together, this experience is for you. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You’ll stay at Szatyor Community House in Etyek. The house is equipped with shared rooms, indoor showers and toilets, washing machine and Wi-Fi. The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden with raised beds, greenhouse, and fireplace. There is a covered outdoor kitchen where much of the community life happens. We’ll cook together using provided ingredients, following a vegetarian and vegan diet, and on free days you can cook for yourself or take meals with you while exploring.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will have the chance to learn both in theory and in practice. Through interactive educational sessions on permaculture and sustainability, you’ll explore the principles behind eco-friendly living, while hands-on garden work lets you apply these ideas directly. You’ll gain skills in organic gardening, composting, and sustainable practices, sharing knowledge with others and seeing how small actions can make a big impact on the environment.

Participant profile

We are looking for volunteers aged 18–30, who are legal residents of the European Union and curious about sustainable living, permaculture, and community volunteering. If you aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty, enjoy teamwork, and are open to live in a shared community space then this opportunity is for you.
