#openpavillon: We build things and social bonds! Two community building weeks between Arts, Gardening and Crafts
Other Music Academy e.V.
Weimar, Germany
Description
#openpavillon is a sociocultural construction site between arts and crafts - www.openpavillon.eu Here, we come together to live, work and learn together over 2 weeks at the Other Music Academy [OMA] in Weimar. This year we’re building a garden. We dive into workshops about biodiversity, soil, plant communication, and garden cultures through the centuries. We are a group of international artists, craftswo*men, children with and without special needs, ESC volunteers and neighbors. For two weeks we build with wood and stone, we garden with plants and soil, we learn arts, dance and cultural history in workshops – together with you? We will share living and working spaces in the OMA building Weimar in a diverse group of people. If you like co-creation, getting your hands dirty and your hearts opened, if you want to try out new creative practices and if you're excited about a two week intense wokrshop and crafting programme, we welcome you to bring your ideas and experiences!
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Your travel costs will be reimbursed according to ESC guidelines. If you need a visa, please inform us and we will help you. You will be accommodated in the OMA building, an old school currently under renovation. It has all necessary utilities, but we might face some inconveniences due to the construction. This can include dust and noises. All ESC-participants as well as the team will stay here. The rooms will be shared with 2-3 participants. Imagine glamping with good vibes and great people. Food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) will be provided. In addition there is a pocket money of 7€/day pP.
Training during the activity
You will learn practical skills in various fields of crafting and the arts. This includes wood work, stone work, gardening and botany, cooking, dance, music improvisation and cultural history. Many of the skills are relevant for various professions. Our project is meant to strengthen each one's potential for autonomy, creativity and social connectivity: in short - empowerment! Our diversity is our strength. We will learn approaches for a constructive culture of dealing with conflict and challenges. With and from each other, we learn soft skills for a more resilient and caring society.
