Signal of Solidarity e.V.
Witten, Germany
Description
Our organisation is looking for a volunteer for our project nouranour in 2026. nouranour aims to promote intercultural exchange and professional integration. We strongly believe that women play a crucial role in society: they have a strong influence on the next generation and act as important role models. However, they often have fewer opportunities and face more barriers. Supporting women in becoming more involved in society is one of our key goals. Through our sewing and handicraft courses, we accompany and support them in their professional paths. Participants create unique items from recycled materials, which are showcased in our showroom and available for purchase. We also promote sustainable fashion by repairing clothes and developing upcycling projects. We are looking for a volunteer to support different areas of our organisation; from social media and communication to directly supporting women in finding educational, professional or social opportunities.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
You will have your own bedroom in a shared apartment with other volunteers. You will also receive a monthly Deutschlandticket, which allows you to travel throughout Germany, as well as pocket money for food.
Participant profile
We are looking for a second volunteer to work in nouranour in the field of women’s integration. This volunteer will also work closely with refugee and immigrant women, by helping them in finding opportunities such as language courses, training programs or first professional steps, while additionally contributing to the organisation of events, workshops or empowerment activities. You will learn how to organise and manage workshops. The role includes being present in daily activities in the shop. You will learn basic knowledges on how to handle a shop and on clothes. Good communication skills are required, as well as basic German knowledge and motivation to learn and speak German. We can help the volunteers to find a German class. An interest in IT or basic computer skills would be an asset, as we are currently working on launching an online shop.
