Description

Our Volunteering Teams will take place in Athens Greece, 26 March - 9 April 2026 (+ 2 travel days), with motivated young people from EU Member States to engage local residents and youth around digital rights, active participation and civic engagement, and key EU youth priorities. Also, they will demonstrate how volunteering and solidarity underpin a stronger, more cohesive society. The main thematic areas of the action include: - Participation in democratic life - Digital transition: tools, skills, and rights - EU Youth Goals Volunteers will contribute to -the design and implementation of awareness campaigns and community activation via social networks and local interventions -research and interviews on the topics of the project -visits and activities’ implementation in cooperation with local stakeholders, mainly schools -multicultural activities and training workshops

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Travel costs to and from the activity site are covered by the Programme, following the European Solidarity Corps Guide and distances set by the European Commission’s Distance Calculator. After host approval, volunteers book their flights and claim reimbursement per the financial rules. Accommodation is provided by the hosting organization in gender-specific double or triple rooms, with breakfast included. Lunches and dinners are also covered.

Training during the activity

As part of the activity, volunteers will follow a programme of non-formal, experiential learning based on the YOCOMO Competence Model. Team-building sessions, integration workshops and intercultural events will foster team cohesion. The trainer will provide ongoing guidance across all tasks. Indicatively, this will include: - Campaign development & digital tools use - Organising local events - Conducting surveys & data analysis - Drafting ideas for projects and initiatives

Participant profile

For this activity, we are looking for 10 international participants residing in EU-Member States who: - Are between 18 and 30 years old - Have a strong working knowledge of English - Possess solid digital skills, including social media, computer use, and Microsoft Office - Uphold the values of human rights, respect, solidarity, inclusion, and equality, with an open mind and creative spirit - Are ready to work and interact in an international, multicultural environment - Wish to engage in a creative process and take part in peer-to-peer learning - have previous experience of working with young people (is beneficial but not a prerequisite)
