Description

The volunteer will support Friends of the Earth Malta’s organisational development by assisting with administration, coordination, fundraising, and project management tasks. Activities include supporting project and funding applications, reporting, volunteer coordination, documentation, and internal communication. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will be accommodated in a shared apartment close to FoEM’s offices, with rent and utility costs fully covered. A monthly allowance will be provided for food and personal expenses. Travel to and from Malta will be reimbursed according to ESC rules. Local transport required for volunteering activities will be supported. Private Henner insurance will be provided for the entire duration of the activity.

Training during the activity

The volunteer will receive on-the-job training through close collaboration with FoEM’s management team. Training will focus on administrative systems, project coordination, fundraising processes, reporting, and internal communication tools. The volunteer will also attend ESC on-arrival and mid-term trainings. Additional learning opportunities may include internal workshops, mentoring sessions, and skills development related to NGO management and coordination.

Participant profile

The participant is a young person interested in organisation, coordination, and how NGOs function behind the scenes. They are organised, detail-oriented, and motivated to support teams through administrative and coordination tasks. The participant is comfortable using basic digital tools such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, or is willing to learn. Previous experience in administration or project support is not required. An interest in environmental and social justice work, reliability, and a supportive, proactive attitude are key.
