Description

At Sos Malnate, the volunteer will have the opportunity to participate in various initiatives that support people and to involve young people in the association. The project offers innovative activities that employ various methods to promote social inclusion, with a particular focus on European awareness. Role and tasks of the volunteers: community services like transport and accompaniment of elderly people and people with disabilities; support in reaching healthcare facilities and essential services, and possible participation in ambulance transport (after specific training and with good knowledge of Italian).Communication and events, such as social media storytelling of the association’s activities, documentation of experiences and support in organising local events and community projects At CSV: The volunteer will promote the ESC Programme. Activities: supporting initiatives that promote active citizenship and youth participation, helping to organise events and cultural activities.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers are hosted in a fully equipped house with two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. The house also has a garden. Volunteers will share a bedroom with another volunteer. Volunteers prepare their own meals.

Training during the activity

On-arrival training is delivered by the Lead Organisation on project goals, local partnerships and the principles of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC). Staff provide specific training on working with vulnerable adults and continuous on-the-job support. Volunteers join monthly group sessions linked to Youthpass, attend National Agency trainings (arrival and mid-term), and access ESC online language tools and Italian courses.

Participant profile

All people aged 18 - 30, who have a genuine interest and passion for working with people. The Ideal volunteer’s profile is a person motivated and curious, socially sensitive and community-oriented. Willing to build relationships with people, proactive and collaborative. A driving licence (Category B) is an advantage but not required
