Description

Laulasmaa is a village in Northern Estonia on the shore of Lahepere Bay and is 29 km away from the capital. Laulasmaa School is an organisation which is made up of three schools and three kindergartens at Laulasmaa, Klooga and Lehola. The school and the kindergarten at Laulasmaa are the biggest. It has 280 pupils and 85 employees, and provides primary education. The kindergarten has 126 children from the age of 1-6. Laulasmaa School maintains and develops Estonian culture by paying attention to Estonian language and the study of culture. In addition to the traditional subjects, the students learn folklore, crafts, art, folk dances, choir songs, music. Also, the children take part in hobby classes, contests and other projects. Laulasmaa School knows that non-formal learning is important. During breaks, the school offers the children a variety of activities. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will be provided with suitable accommodation conveniently located near their respective hosting organisation. Accommodation will typically be in a shared apartment or hostel, furnished with essential items. Rooms may be private or shared, depending on availability, with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Volunteers receive €5/day pocket money and additional food allowance per month, managing their own meals. International travel is reimbursed based on set travel budget and task related local transport is covered to full extent.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will take part in the ESC training cycle organized by the Estonian National Agency, which focuses on personal development and intercultural learning. Additionally, the coordinating organisation arranges hikes and other activities for volunteers throughout the service period, providing opportunities for social interaction.
