Description

Fortress of Culture Šibenik is a public institution in a culture that cares for the fortified heritage of the city of Šibenik, managing its sustainable use by organizing cultural events for citizens and visitors of Šibenik. The institution now manages the Fortress of St. Mihovil and Barone Fortress. The project is centered on aiding the fortresses with their activities, as well as encouraging sustainable development of the local community and climate actions. Tasks of volunteers: - helping the fortress staff with daily activities - aiding with reinstating the fortresses after the summer touristic season (renewal and recuperating) - promoting content on the fort (heritage, what to look at) - participation in climate actions (cleaning actions in the local surroundings).

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

During the whole duration of the volunteering activity, volunteers will be located in Hostel Globo in Šibenik. Also, all volunteers will be provided three meals per day and pocket money (70 EUR per volunteer upon arrival). All participants will be reimbursed travel costs in a maximum amount depending on the Erasmus+ distance calculator.

Participant profile

We look for volunteers who are dynamic, creative, sociable, patient, able to work in a multicultural team, and flexible. Knowledge of the English language is an asset. We are looking for 14 volunteer residents in the EU, Western Balkans, Ukraine, Moldova, Norway, and Iceland.
