Animation and intercultural exchange in a French high school

Description
The MFR du Domaine de la Saulsaie, situated near the Montluel village in a rural area. - Intercultural awareness - Be an ambassador of his/her own country. - Organise intercultural evenings to make the students discover their own country and other European countries. Present the differences in these countries concerning certain topics like geography, culture, current laws... in order to discuss with students about the French system. - Participate to workshops that prepare students for their first mobility (intercultural preparation…). - Linguistic animation in collaboration with the English teachers during English classes and evenings. - Organise from time to time thematic evenings for the students during their leisure time.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Accommodation and food will be provided. The volunteer will have two different accommodations available. The main one will be used during the days of his/her missions, from monday evening to thursday, inside the MFR du Domaine de la Saulsaie, in Montluel. The other one will be available for weekends (from thrusday evening until monday morning) and during his/her holidays, and will be situated in a sharing apartment in Oullins 15 min away by metro from Lyon. Local transports will be covered. During the second part of the mission, the volunteer is only in the appartment in Lyon.
Training during the activity
The volunteer will work 35 hours per week, distributed in 4 days a week. From Monday to Thursday (He/she will have holidays when the MFR will be closed) + the national holidays. Meeting once a month with the other volunteers team in Lyon for trainings. Volunteers will be contacted as soon as we receive applications (with detailled infopack).
Participant profile
To be communicative and easy to approach by youngsters. Motivation for the topics of youth activities and French pedagogical and educational system. Adaptation, sense of organisation and anticipation. Willingness to propose activities to share about his/her country. Willingness to be in a french environment (langages spoken mostly french and some English) : good french and english knowledge to be able to communicate.
