Volunteering in the Youth Center II
Expression o.z.
Spišská Belá, Slovakia
Description
Face Club is a youth centre in the heart of Spišská Belá — an open space where local kids and young people come to learn, create, move and connect. As a volunteer, you become a real part of the team: co-creating workshops, running English days, sports days, film nights and creative sessions, helping plan holiday programmes or occasionally joining events with our partner organisations. Imagine spending your afternoon helping a 10-year-old discover they love painting, your evening planning untraditional sports festival with teenagers, and your night time playing som table tennis with your colleagues. That's a Tuesday at Face Club. No two weeks look the same. You'll help prepare the space, bring your own ideas, and grow into better version of yourself. Whether you can commit for 5 months or a full year — we we adapt to your life situation. Check our infopack here: https://acesse.one/infopack-faceclub-slovakia
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
You'll have your own room (or share with another volunteer, depends on the number of volunteers) in a cosy flat a short walk from Face Club. Think fully equipped kitchen, wifi, and a bike available for getting around. Every month you receive pocket money plus a food allowance. We'll help you sort out transport to Slovakia before you arrive. Spišská Belá sits at the foot of the High Tatras — one of the most scenic regions in Central Europe. From here you can easily travel around Slovakia, go for a weekend trip to Poland, visit Prague, Budapest, Vienna and much more.
Training during the activity
On-arrival and mid-term training organised by the Slovak National Agency. Youthpass certificate — officially recognised record of your competences and learning. Real, hands-on experience working with children and youth in a community setting. Slovak language lessons — a genuinely rare skill that will set you apart. A European network of volunteers, youth workers and organisations. Time and space for personal growth — far from your usual routine. Coach & mentor meetings — to create a personal project of your choice.
Participant profile
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being around kids and young people — not just tolerating the chaos, but actually thriving in it. You're open to new experiences, curious about different cultures, and motivated to grow both personally and professionally. Previous experience with children or youth work is a bonus, but far from essential. What matters more is that you bring creativity, empathy, and a sense of responsibility to whatever you do — whether that's organising a board games tournament or sitting with a kid who's having a rough day. If you're into sports, art, or games you'll fit right in. Solid English is needed for day-to-day communication — everything else, we'll figure out together :)
