Vukovar, Croatia

Description

The team volunteering project “EcoVibe Youth Crew – Vukovar” will take place from 13 to 28 May 2026 in Vukovar, Croatia (inc. travel days), and will bring together 10 young volunteers from different EU countries. The aim of the project is to raise awareness about SD, environmental protection and ecological approaches to solving community challenges. During the 14-day program, volunteers will take part in various activities with the local community, youth and children with dissabilites. Activities include workshops on sustainable development, zero-waste practices and organic eco-cosmetics, as well as community volunteering actions such as creating a wall of tolerance and solidarity. Volunteers will also work on digital storytelling, creating video and digital stories about volunteering and community actions. The project promotes intercultural exchange, solidarity and active participation of young people while encouraging healthy lifestyles and environmental responsibility.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will be accommodated at the Nada (eng. Hope) restaurant and lodging in Vukovar, in rooms with 3–4 beds. Each room includes a private bathroom, TV, and free Wi-Fi. Daily breakfast and dinner are provided in restaurant. Each volunteer will receive pocket money in amount of €10 daily set by European Solidarity program Guide. Travel expenses are reimbursed up to the maximum set by the ESC/E+ distance calculator. Volunteers can arrive via Zagreb, Belgrade or Budapest airports, then continue to Vukovar by bus or organized transport (if more people land/come in "the same time").

Training during the activity

Volunteers will learn through informal education and practical activities: workshops about (SD), ecology, zero-waste practices, and making organic cosmetics. Activities also include digital storytelling, creating videos and digital stories about volunteering and community projects. The program features daily reflections, evaluations, and intercultural activities to exchange experiences and develop new skills.
