Description

The Creative Volunteers ESC activity gathers young people from Bosnia, Italy, and Serbia for a 14-day volunteering experience (excluding travel days) supporting the 2nd Moving Balkans Regional Contemporary Dance Platform Showcase in Novi Sad, held from 12–17 May 2026 across multiple cultural venues. Volunteers also join the Rhythm of Europe festival on 9 May. Coordinated by Udruženje Svetlost Šabac with SKCNS, the program runs from 7–22 May 2026 (14 days + 2 travel days). Participants aged 18–30 contribute 5–6 hours daily (25–30 weekly) in teams: Host (guest support), Technical (stage setup), and Media (social coverage). Open to motivated youth interested in arts and events, no prior experience required, with space for initiative and creativity.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteering takes place in Novi Sad, Serbia’s second-largest city and cultural hub of Vojvodina, known for its arts, architecture, and relaxed vibe. Home to EXIT festival and European Capital of Culture 2022, it lies on the Danube beneath Petrovaradin Fortress. Activities happen in SKCNS venues and city spaces. Volunteers stay in hostel 15 minutes from the centre, in shared rooms. With Stari Grad, cafés, markets, and river views nearby, the city offers a rich and welcoming experience.

Training during the activity

During the opportunity, participants will take part in onboarding 2 days training prepared by Udruženje Svetlost. This training introduces them to the project goals, roles, and expectations of the volunteers and the hosting organisation.

Participant profile

The project is open to young people aged 18 to 30, resident in Italy, Bosnia and Serbia, who have not yet reached the 12-month limit of ESC volunteering. We welcome applicants with any interest in arts, culture, events, and festival organisation — no specific background is required, just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved.
