Short-Term Project-,,Volunteering For a Better World"

Asociatia Voluntariatul pentru Toti

Resita, Romania

Description

Our ESC volunteering for a better world project aims to improve the area where we live, bring people closer together, increase civic engagement and combat discrimination and racism. Our activities will focus on painting the walls of schools where children from disadvantaged backgrounds learn, setting up greenhouses that will be transformed into places for gardening workshops, greening campaigns, non-formal education for children from disadvantaged areas and providing help at various public events. We will have a group of at least 20 volunteers, to which will be added the 10 long-term volunteers who are already here for a year. Local transportation is provided by the host organization in collaboration with municipality of Resita and volunteers will receive bus and tram ticket passes, to get to the locations where we will work. For the locations outside the city, transportation is provided by the host organization, with its own vehicles.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accomodation: - we provide accommodation in a multiple rooms flat/ school dormitory. - the volunteers will be accommodated in a bedroom with multiple beds (4/5) with common bathroom. Food and Pocket Money: - as financial support the volunteers will receive pocket money (4€/day) and food allowance (5€/day). Transport: The volunteers can use a certain budget to travel to Romania and going back home. The budget is diverse, according to the country of origin and it’s based on the European Commission’s band distance travel budget (The amount is for both ways, coming and going back).

Training during the activity

A united and homogeneous group makes our activities a success. For this, at the beginning of the project, from June 25, for 3 days we will organize a Team-Building in a beautiful location, near the city, in the middle of nature. In this team-building we want all volunteers to get to know each other, to know better the objectives of ESC Programme and the project, but also the activities that we are going to carry out.
