INCLUSIVE CREATIVE WORK LAB (Short Term)

Fondazione Don Giovanni Zanandrea Onlus

Campi d'arte Società Cooperativa Sociale

San Pietro In Casale BO, Italia, Italy

Description

The Laboratorio Manodopera Socio-Occupational Center is a vibrant and inclusive space where adults with disabilities explore their potential and develop new skills. Up to 25 participants engage daily in hands-on craft workshops (favors, felt items, artistic packaging), music and expressive labs, motor and aquatic activities, and social-emotional exercises. Structured routines promote autonomy, well-being, and self-confidence. Through collaborations with schools, social centers, and local associations, participants connect with the wider community. Volunteers will experience a dynamic, supportive environment, witnessing creativity, inclusion, and personal growth in action. This is a unique opportunity to learn about social inclusion, educational methodologies, and community engagement while observing and supporting the transformative impact of empowerment, creativity, and skill-building on each participant’s life.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will live in a shared apartment with 1-2 others within a complex hosting 6-7 volunteers involved in different activities across local facilities. Food and accommodation are provided by the organization, and transport to and from activities is included in the schedule. Living close together encourages socialization, shared free time, cultural exchange, informal learning, and building lasting friendships, fostering teamwork, mutual support, and a strong sense of community among all volunteers.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will assist educators in craft, music, motor, emotional, and autonomy workshops, and support participants during local trips and inclusive activities. They will join educational teams and supervision sessions, gaining skills in inclusive education, group facilitation, and individualized planning. Living and working closely with fellow volunteers and participants, they help run daily routines, foster autonomy, contribute to a collaborative environment, and positively impact participants’ daily lives.

Participant profile

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic volunteers eager to work with people with disabilities and to share their personal passions. Volunteers should have good communication and interpersonal skills, creativity, curiosity, and a willingness to learn and experiment with new methods. They can contribute any artistic skills they enjoy, such as painting, drawing, sculpture, theatre, music, or multimedia arts. Complementary activities may include sports, manual or cultural workshops, support in daily routines, participation in social events, and engagement with the wider community, creating meaningful connections and learning experiences for all.
