Description
Are you passionate about empowering young people and making a real difference in their lives? Join Association Merkuri in Zugdidi, Georgia, to lead dynamic youth programs that actively engage children and young adults aged 8 to 25. In this role, you will provide vital support to at-risk youth, raise awareness about domestic violence, and facilitate impactful workshops and discussions tailored to their unique needs. You will collaborate with young people and local stakeholders to develop clubs, social education initiatives, and creative projects that foster personal growth and community involvement. As a mentor and coordinator of local volunteers, you will promote informed decision-making, contribute to monitoring and evaluation, and share best practices to continuously improve the program’s reach and effectiveness.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will be warmly welcomed into a host family’s private home in Zugdidi, offering a safe and authentic cultural experience. You will have your own locked room and access to shared facilities including the kitchen, bathroom, and washing machine. A monthly subsistence allowance will be provided to cover food and personal expenses, alongside a transportation reimbursement for local travel. Visa fees, insurance, and international travel (round-trip ticket) will be covered by the sending organization, ensuring your focus remains on the meaningful work ahead.
Training during the activity
As part of the BRIDGE Project (Building Resilience, Innovation, Development, and Gender Equality), volunteers will work toward empowering vulnerable communities, especially women. Training includes skills development workshops, digital literacy enhancement, participation in UN Women Summits, and facilitating digital training sessions. Volunteers will gain hands-on experience in capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and social impact-driven project execution while refining leadership and communication skills.
