Summer Camp in Jászberény

Egyesek Ifjúsági Egyesület

Jászberény, Hungary

Description

Helyet! Alapítvány (Space! Foundation), based in Jászberény, Hungary, supports disadvantaged individuals, families, and communities through social services and inclusive programs. Since 2015, it has developed initiatives such as daily care, supported housing, and educational activities, including Kis-Csillag Tanoda, to promote independence, inclusion, and long-term opportunities for vulnerable groups. Volunteers in the summer camp will support community engagement through creative workshops, team activities, and social interactions with local participants. They will help strengthen community spirit, build connections across generations, and contribute to an inclusive environment. Volunteers play a key role in boosting children’s confidence, building trust, and creating positive experiences. No prior experience is required—this is a valuable opportunity to learn about social support work and contribute to meaningful change.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

All volunteers will be accommodated in shared rooms. The host will provide three meals a day (hot meals for lunch and dinner), with the team rotating to cook, supported by local camp leaders and youth workers. Vegetarian, gluten and lactose-free options will be available. Each volunteer will also receive €7 per day as pocket money. Travel costs to the project location will be reimbursed based on the distance traveled after participation. All necessary equipment for the tasks will be provided.

Training during the activity

From Friday till Sunday an orientation training (movement, sports and games and facilitation skills) will be provided by an experienced Egyesek staff member. This will be followed by mentoring sessions to support the learning and professional development of you. In the institution school staff will provide further support if required.
