CIGLE FÉ-SZEK Mezőgazdasági vegyes gazdálkodású KÖZÖSSÉGI ÉS TÁRSADALMI CÉLÚ SZOCIÁLIS SZÖVETKEZET
Cegléd, Hungary
Description
Cigle Fé-Szek Social Cooperative is developing a social farm on the outskirts of Cegléd, focusing on sustainable living, permaculture, eco-architecture and local tourism, where young people gain hands-on knowledge through practice-based trainings. During the summer volunteer camp, we work together on preparing the community vegetable garden and building and decorating wooden garden structures and tools, alongside other farm tasks such as creating beds and paths, landscaping, caring for animals (chickens, rabbits, geese), planting, and water-retention solutions. Besides work, we offer community programs, and in 2026—when Cegléd is Youth Capital—you can join cultural events, with Budapest also within easy reach. We welcome volunteers interested in sustainability or spending time in a rural, friendly environment, mainly doing hands-on work; general physical fitness and basic English are required. Start: 26.June, mornig End: 16, July, afternoon www.ciglefeszek.hu
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Accommodation is provided in the renovated farmhouse, in two shared rooms separated by gender; the bathroom is shared but lockable. Kitchen and living room are communal, with fridge, microwave, drinkable tap water, washing machine available. Please bring a sleeping bag. Cegléd city centre is accessible by bus from the nearby thermal bath (limited frequency). The train stop is 25–30 min walk or 5–8 min by bike; bikes are provided. One common hot meal per day is provided on working days on-site or near the thermal bath, considering food intolerances where possible.
Training during the activity
After arrival, we provide orientation and motivation training, introducing the location, culture and basic Hungarian phrases, as well as the organisation, team, activities, safety rules and schedule. Community building is priority and supported and camp rules are discussed together, and Youthpass is presented. The camp ends with a reflection workshop and certificate ceremony. Volunteers gain hands-on experience in sustainable construction, gardening and animal care, while developing communication, cooperation and self-confidence in an international team.
