The power of together

Nature Community Volunteering Team Spring 2026

Nature Community eG

Schönsee, Germany

Description

Join a European volunteer team at Nature Community, a rural eco-community in Bavaria near the Czech border. In a time shaped by uncertainty about the future and social, political, and ecological challenges, this project offers young people a concrete place to act, learn, and reconnect — with nature, with others, and with their own capacity to contribute. Together, we will support the preparation of the European Ecovillage Gathering 2026 that takes place in Summer, an international event dedicated to community, sustainability, and social transformation. This is not just about helping with practical tasks. It is about becoming part of a living experiment in cooperation, shared responsibility, and future-oriented community life. www.nature-community.de www.ecovillagegathering.org

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Our eco-community is located in a remote rural area of Bavaria, surrounded by nature and away from city infrastructure. Accommodation will be arranged in shared rooms. Meals are vegan and organic and will be prepared partly together with the community and partly within the volunteer group. Travel costs will be reimbursed according to ESC rules upon presentation of tickets. Please keep all original travel documents and bring them with you.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will gain hands-on experience in practical tasks such as using basic tools, supporting maintenance and renovation, gardening, land care, simple construction, and plant-based cooking in the community kitchen. They will also take part in community-based learning practices like sharing circles, deep listening, reflection sessions, and teamwork processes, which support communication skills, resilience, accountability, and constructive collaboration.

Participant profile

We are looking for young people aged 18–30 who are open to community life and willing to contribute with curiosity, flexibility, and responsibility. You do not need prior experience — much more important is your readiness to engage in practical tasks, live closely with others, and take part in a shared daily rhythm. This project may be a good fit for you if you enjoy hands-on work, are interested in sustainable living, and would like to experience what it means to support a larger collective vision through concrete everyday contribution. We appreciate people who are reliable, respectful, self-reflective, and genuinely interested in both personal and collective learning.
