No Borders Festival 4

Entropia APS

Rende (Cosenza), Italy

Description

The “No Borders Festival” is a group volunteering activity under the European Solidarity Corps, involving 14 volunteers from different countries. The project is promoted by Entropia and takes place at the University of Calabria (Italy), a vibrant international campus. Now in its fourth edition, the festival aims to promote inclusion, intercultural dialogue, and active citizenship by creating a space for exchange between local and international communities. It seeks to break down cultural barriers, challenge stereotypes, and foster mutual understanding. Volunteers will support the preparation and implementation of the festival through non-formal learning methods. They will co-create the programme and organize intercultural activities such as food stands, exhibitions, and workshops, in collaboration with international students. Participants will develop transversal skills, strengthen intercultural competences, and gain hands-on experience in community-based initiatives.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Travel costs will be reimbursed up to a maximum of 309 euros or 395 euros, depending on the country participants come from. Accommodation and food expenses are directly covered by the hosting organisation. The location of activities and accommodation is the Campus of University of Calabria.

Training during the activity

During the two-week project, volunteers will be involved in all phases of the No Borders Festival. In the preparatory phase, they will take part in team-building, language learning, and sessions on communication and dissemination, as well as co-create festival activities. During the festival, volunteers will support event management, promote activities, set up spaces, facilitate workshops, handle logistics, and document the events through photos, videos, and interviews. In the follow-up phase, volunteers will help evaluate results and prepare dissemination materials.

Participant profile

The project is open to young people aged 18–30 who are highly motivated and eager to live and work in a multicultural environment. Participants should be open to different cultures, flexible and adaptable to the project schedule, and friendly, proactive, and creative. Valued competences include artistic talents (music, dance, visual arts), communication skills (social media, photography, video, storytelling), an interest in intercultural exchange and community engagement, and basic organisational or event-related abilities.
