Description
The purpose of the project is to empower local youth with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to thrive in a diverse and interconnected world. As a Youth Leadership & Intercultural Learning Coordinator, the volunteer will act as a planner, implementer and evaluator of the leadership training courses and activities/events to be happen at a knowledge hub for local youth with the support of CSDS staff along the way. Tentative activities are as follow: Organize and maintain resources of a local youth hub Plan and deliver interactive workshops on leadership, communication, self- identity, languages, interculture Design, promote for and deliver training courses on Leadership and Global Connect for groups of 10-30 local youth. Monitor and evaluate the impact of workshops and activities Prepare for media posts/videos about project activities Every 4 month the volunteer will do field trip to local community to organize activities for ethnic youth.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteer will be living in the volunteer house in twin room (sharing room with one other volunteer, same gender). The volunteer house has free wifi, hot water for showers in the winter and aircon/fans for the summer. The house has nanny to take care of cleaning and food cooking. Food is provided 3 times a day from Monday to Sunday except Saturday. There is kitchen with basic utensils that the volunteer can use as needed. The house is located in local area with convenience shop, ATM, local markets, cafe, etc. The volunteer will be provided with monthly buspass
Training during the activity
The Youth Leadership & Intercultural Learning Coordinator will be provided with On Arrival Training for 5 days to better understand about culture, country, life and workstyle of Vietnamese people. Also the volunteer will be arranged for city tours and other events for culture immersion. The volunteer will be provided with Vietnamese lessons along the way and a team of youthful and active staff and local volunteers as supporters and mentors. During the program duration, the volunteer will also be taken to NGOs and associations/clubs who are working with focus on youth empowerment
Participant profile
Skills and Experience: Project coordination skills: planning workshops, organizing volunteers, managing tasks Event organization: event planning and management, problem skills and adaptability. Educational experience: teaching or facilitating workshops for children & youth including creating educational content, games, or interactive materials. Digital literacy: ability to create visual materials, presentations, or social media content Personal qualities: Flexibility and Creativity Friendliness and Understanding Communication and Interpersonal skills Leadership & initiative Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
