Description

The volunteer will have socio-cultural animation missions, around the following actions : - Assistance in educational supervision of circus arts activities (participation to supervise circus classes and workshops) - Participation in youth and social projects (work with other youth actors on the recognition and promotion of non-formal education, share their experience and be a “passenger” to other young people in the area) - Activities in support to volunteer network (develop some projects of his choice in order to energise volunteers network acting for l’Art d’en faire) - Material logistics linked to educational actions and events (Handling tasks, site layout, sound system, equipment management, DIY, welcoming the public, welcoming artistic companies) - Communication: dissemination The volunteer will work using the circus arts tool, but will also have the opportunity to carry out activities related to their own skills that they would like to develop or put into practice.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will be housed in a furnished, individual studio apartment above the Joyeuse medical center, a 10-minute walk from the circus school. The apartment is adjacent to another studio apartment where our French volunteer will be staying. Each studio apartment has its own bathroom; the fully equipped kitchen and balcony are shared by both volunteers. Driving license B is a plus, to travel around the territory. A vehicle may possibly be loaned. Buses pass through the town of Joyeuse, and allow you to travel.

Training during the activity

The volunteer will be participating in the on-arrival and mid-term trainings organised by the National Agency, if possible. He/She will be registered on the on-line linguistic support proposed to all European Solidarity Corps volunteers. He/She will be in regular contact with his/her mentor in the hosting organisation and with his/her mentor in the sending organisation. A welcoming time, trainings and support to help him/her in his/her integration and activities will be organised: necessary training and support in terms of supervision, acquisition of teaching methods, working with disabilities

Participant profile

The volunteer will work using the circus arts tool, but will also have the opportunity to carry out activities related to their own skills that they would like to develop or put into practice. a desire to discover and/or practice circus and to train is essential. The team will appreciate the new ideas and skills brought by the volunteer, but a motivated beginner will be welcome!
