Description
Echo is a volunteering opportunity coordinated by ArtisA Gallery in San Nicolas, Aruba, aimed at a creative and inclusive future through art. Volunteers support exhibitions, visitor welcoming, documentation, and communication, and contribute to ArtWeek Aruba, Art Expression youth workshops, mural tours, and the MISO social project, promoting art and social inclusion.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers are accommodated at Cas Arena, a shared house in San Nicolas, within walking distance of ArtisA’s project spaces. The house hosts up to four volunteers and is fully equipped for daily living, including bedding, towels, kitchen utensils, and basic cookware.
Volunteers receive an allowance per day for food and pocket money The local currency is the Aruban Florin, while US Dollars are widely accepted.
A bus stop is located 2 minutes’ walk from the house. For project-related activities, transport costs are covered by the project.
Training during the activity
The volunteer will take part in on training sessions designed to support integration and preparation for the role. The training includes an introduction to ArtisA and the European Solidarity Corps (ESC), cultural orientation, and an overview of the working context. It also covers roles and responsibilities, health, safety and well-being, teamwork, non-formal learning, reflection methods, and available support systems such as mentors and coordinators. The aim is to ensure a smooth integration, personal growth, and confidence throughout the experience.
Participant profile
The potential participant is a proactive and motivated individual with a strong interest in social impact, cultural exchange, and community engagement. They are not expected to be artists, but should be curious about how art and culture can be used as tools for education, inclusion, and positive change in society.
We are looking for someone who is responsible, open-minded, and willing to take initiative in supporting daily activities and projects. The participant should feel comfortable working in a dynamic environment, interacting with the public, and collaborating within an international team.
An interest in communication, media, event support, or community work is an advantage, as volunteers will contribute to documentation, storytelling, and promotion of the foundation’s activities.
Flexibility, teamwork, and a strong motivation to contribute to meaningful social and cultural projects are essential qualities for this role.
