Description
Food for Life APS, affiliated with the Hare Krishna community of Goloka Ecofarm in Pontinvrea (Savona), is a social promotion association active in the Ligurian area. It distributes warm, nutritious vegetarian meals to people in need. Main Activities: Meal distribution: Volunteers provide food to those in need, often preparing dishes inspired by Vedic cuisine. Goloka Ecofarm: The community serves as an ISKCON Bhakti Yoga center in the Savona hinterland and also manages a cow sanctuary. Volunteering: It is possible to take part in the community’s activities, including the Food for Life project, as highlighted in posts on the Goloka Ecofarm – Hare Krishna Savona Facebook page.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The European Union covers the costs of travel expenses, food, accomodation, health insurance and a daily pocket money of 6 euros.
Participant profile
Be aged between 18 and 30. Be legally resident in a participating country of the European Solidarity Corps. Demonstrate a strong motivation to support vulnerable groups, especially people experiencing homelessness. Show empathy, respect, and openness when working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Be willing to take part in practical tasks such as food preparation, meal distribution, and cleaning. Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Be flexible and adaptable to different working hours, including evenings or weekends. Be committed to the full duration of the project.
