DE PROEF in Frederiksoord, Netherlands, is a unique heritage regeneration project where history, ecology, creativity, and community come together. This previously abandoned horticultural school is located As an EU Solidarity Corps volunteer, you'll be part of transforming a historic 140-year-old site into a thriving hub for ecology, sustainable innovation, craftsmanship, and cultural exchange. We welcome enthusiastic, hands-on individuals, especially those interested and with an (basic) experience in hospitality, horticulture, landscaping, ecology, and heritage conservation. No prior experience is required—just curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a love for plants and the outdoors!

Training during the activity
As a volunteer at DE PROEF, you'll gain hands-on experience in hospitality, horticulture, landscape management, and ecological restoration while working alongside local experts and an international team. Your activities may include:
1. Helping with food production, local food chains, and recipe development
2. Sustainable Cultivation
3. Education & Community Engagement
4. Garden & Landscape Restoration
5. Help out at cultural events (like theatre productions, markets and more)
Participant profile
We welcome enthusiastic, hands-on individuals, especially those interested and with an (basic) experience in working with food, horticulture, landscaping, ecology, and heritage conservation. No prior experience is required; just curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a love for plants and the outdoors!
