Description

You will join EuroClio (European Association of History Educators) to support communications and outreach efforts that strengthen history, heritage, and citizenship education across Europe. Your tasks will include: - Content Creation: Develop creative content and social media campaigns to help EuroClio reach wider audiences. Create videos, Reels, interviews, behind-the-scenes content, and other multimedia materials. Support the implementation of communication campaigns for projects and events, including social media planning and audience outreach. - Research & Writing: Produce engaging articles on history, history education, and citizenship education through research, interviews, writing, editing, and fact-checking. - Podcast: Support the development of EuroClio’s 2 podcasts, through research, guest outreach, content preparation, recording, editing, and promotion. - Newsletter: Contribute to the preparation and publication of EuroClio’s monthly newsletter.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will live in the Archipelbuurt in The Hague, in the EuroClio Secretariat building, with your own private room and shared bathroom, kitchen, and dining area. You will receive pocket money. Accommodation costs are covered, but food is not included. Weekends are free for rest, cultural exploration, or visiting nearby cities. We have many cultural activities and places to recommend. Training during the activity

You will receive on-arrival training and mid-term training provided by the Dutch National Agency. In addition, we can organise a visit to Don Bosco Youthnet in Assel, the Netherlands, where you can meet international volunteers and develop skills to succeed in an intercultural environment. Throughout your volunteering experience, you will benefit from continuous guidance and mentoring from EuroClio Staff members. You will have access to a catalogue of in-house training. This support will allow you to explore your own ideas, take initiative, and contribute to communications projects.

Participant profile

You can apply if you are aged 20 to 30, interested in living abroad for 12 months, and motivated to contribute to an international organisation working in history, heritage, and citizenship education. We are looking for enthusiastic, proactive, and creative people eager to gain hands-on experience in communications, outreach, and content creation in a multicultural NGO environment. This opportunity is particularly suited to applicants with an interest in journalism, history, education, digital media, podcasting, communications and social media. Whether through your studies, volunteering, personal projects, or professional experience, you should be comfortable communicating ideas, working collaboratively, and engaging with diverse audiences. We are especially looking for participants who: - Enjoy researching, writing, and creating engaging content; - Are interested in social media, multimedia production, and storytelling; - Have strong communication and organisational skills; - Are willing to take initiative and contribute to collaborative projects; - Are open to learning new digital tools and communication techniques; - Value cultural diversity and enjoy working in an international team.
