Description
The main working base for volunteers will be the Vedogiovane office in Borgomanero, Northern Italy. From this hub, volunteers will take part in a wide range of activities supporting young people, local communities and social innovation projects. They will contribute to communication and storytelling by creating content, documenting activities and supporting social media. Volunteers will also be involved in youth centres and community spaces, helping to organise workshops, events and participation activities for young people. They may support community welfare and inclusion initiatives carried out with local organisations, including activities promoting solidarity, intercultural dialogue and active citizenship. During the summer, volunteers may participate in camps, youth exchanges and residential programmes. Throughout the project, they will work alongside experienced youth workers and educators, gaining practical experience in non-formal education, communication, community development
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will live in shared, fully equipped apartments in Borgomanero, close to the Vedogiovane office and local services. Accommodation includes internet access, kitchen facilities and all basic necessities. Volunteers will receive a monthly food allowance and pocket money according to ESC regulations, enabling them to manage their meals independently. Most activities will take place in Borgomanero, while transport costs related to project activities in nearby towns will be covered by the project. Practical support will be provided throughout the volunteering experience.
Training during the activity
Volunteers will be involved in the training opportunities that will be offered for the inception and for better understand youth work and youth work activities.
Participant profile
We are looking for motivated young people who are interested in youth work, community engagement, communication, social inclusion and non-formal education. No specific qualifications are required; curiosity, openness, willingness to learn and a positive attitude are more important than previous experience. Volunteers should enjoy working with people from different backgrounds, be willing to take initiative and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. An interest in intercultural learning, European values and active citizenship is highly appreciated. Basic digital and communication skills are welcome but not essential. A driving licence may be useful for some activities, but it is not a requirement.
