Discover Nature conservation Meinweg 2
STICHTING INTERNATIONALE WERKKAMPEN
Wegberg, Germany
Description
During the project, you will work as a forest ranger in the National Park. Your work helps to protect nature and keep the park healthy. The park has open landscapes and heathland. These areas need regular care so plants and animals can continue to live there. You will help remove unwanted plants by hand. This work is careful and important, because machines cannot be used in these natural areas. Other work will be in caring for animals. You will also help restore a small site hut and support basic care for animals living on the property.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The accommodation is a stone building located in the woods. A separate wooden building on the terrain is used for sleeping. It is an open room and SIW will provide a room divider for privacy (m/f). Airbeds are provided, but please bring your own sleeping bag and pillow. A kitchen is available with all facilities, including a washing machine. Volunteers cook and clean together. There is 1 indoor shower, and SIW will place 2 additional outdoor hot-water showers. A separate building is available for indoor activities, and there is plenty of outdoor space with BBQ possibilities.
Training during the activity
We will provide participants access to online training modules provided by the European Solidarity Corps and/ or SIW.
