Description

ICJA is a non-profit organisation that sends German volunteers abroad and hosts international volunteers in Germany. ICJA's aim is to facilitate respectful interactions and understands its exchange as an educational opportunities. The main tasks of this volunteer position will be managing applications and supporting the placement of international volunteers in ICJA workcamps in Germany and abroad. In addition, you will gain insight into daily office routines, carry out administrative work in a workcamp organization, and communicate with international partners and volunteers. Other tasks include supporting the promotion of the programme on social media, participating in national camp leader trainings and working as a camp leader in different workcamps. Further you will be documenting projects through the website, social media and photos, learning to use the TYPO3 CMS to update the website, assisting with financial administration tasks, and working with databases/online tools.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will receive food fee (345 Euro/month), pocket money (7€ per day) and money for public transport (Deutschland Ticket). You will receive a financial support to the travel costs from your place of origin to Germany and back, the amount depends on the distance travelled. You will also receive health insurance. You will live in a shared apartment in his/her own room.

Training during the activity

The volunteer will participate in ESC seminars and internal ICJA trainings.

Participant profile

ICJA is looking for a volunteer with very good German skills (B2/C1) and good English skills (B2–C1). You should be able to work both independently and as part of a team, and have a strong interest in the topic, especially in workcamps and non-formal learning. Basic knowledge of intercultural communication, inclusion, anti-racism work, and international or national youth work is an advantage.
