Description

Merhamet Sandžak is a Muslim humanitarian organization based in Novi Pazar, Serbia, providing social and humanitarian support to vulnerable individuals and families in the region. The Communications & Medi Volunteer will support the organization's visibility and public engagement through strategic communication across multiple platforms. The role combines content creation, social media management, photo and video documentation, and campaign analysis to strengthen public awareness and trust in the organization's humanitarian and development mission. // RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and implement communication strategies, including message crafting and channel selection; Manage social media channels by creating content, posting updates, engaging with followers, and maintaining brand consistency; Capture photo and video materials documenting the organization's activities and events for communication purposes; Track and analyze PR campaign results, adjust strategies as needed.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

All the costs associated with volunteering will be covered by the grant. The volunteer will be provided a round flight ticket and a lockable and safe apartment, with a bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom in the city center near the office premises. In addition, the volunteer will receive a monthly allowance of 500 EUR to cover other daily expenses such as meals and communication.

Training during the activity

The volunteer will attend a pre-departure training to prepare for the opportunity, as well as an on-arrival training which will introduce the participants to the host country. Along with Code of Conduct orientation and Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults training, Merhamet can provide training on the Project Cycle Management to enable better understanding of programming and conducting activities. Volunteers will be offered the opportunity to participate in other Merhamet’s capacity-building activities.

Participant profile

THIS IS 9-MONTH LONG DEPLOYMENT. POSITION NOT SUITABLE FOR CANDIDATES WITH PREVIOUS ESC/EVS/EU VOLUNTEERING EXPERIENCE EXCEEDING 3 MONTHS. We are looking for a creative and communicative individual with a background or strong interest in communications, marketing, journalism, media, or a related field. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about using storytelling and digital tools to promote humanitarian and development work. Experience in social media management, content creation, or photo and video production is an advantage. The volunteer should be comfortable working across multiple communication channels, capturing visual materials in the field, and adapting messages for diverse audiences in a cross-cultural environment.
