Description
It's a long-term volunteering activity starting in October/November 2026 until June 2027. The volunteers accompany children and youngsters with special needs with school work, organise activities that promote healthy life style, sports (table tennis, swimming, basketball …), improve social skills, organise a language course, have creative workshops, cooking ... The volunteers will also be a part of our Centre's projects (camping) and international projects (youth exchanges), present their country, culture and volunteering projects to youngsters in the Centre but also to other young people in schools, libraries and other organizations from local and regional environment. Volunteers will learn about different pedagogical methods, about group dynamic, method of active listening, experiential pedagogy, method of individual work and method of project work. https://www.facebook.com/cirius.kam/ https://www.cirius-kamnik.si/
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will have a constant support of professionals working in CIRIUS Kamnik. For the project we will train volunteers through hospitations in various youth groups, we will offer them on-going support through the whole period of the project and a teacher of Slovene. Accommodation for volunteers is available in our Centre: an apartment for two volunteers and an apartment for one. The food is provided for in our Centre from Monday to Friday). Additionally volunteers also get pocket money, additional money for food (weekends, school holidays …) and money for transport to Slovenia and back.

- trainings organised by Movit, Slovenian NA,
- constant support of a work mentor,
- support of the project coordinator.
Participant profile
- Interested in working with children and youth (with special needs),
- Have some background in working with children and youth,
- Welcome anyone interested to develop professionally in the field of special needs,
- Has a lot of energy, ideas (crafts, sports, music ...),
- Is able to work in a team with other professionals to achieve a common goal,
- Is responsible, mature, motivated and proactive.
