Description

You will assist CRDO strengthening its Communication, Education and Awareness-Raising activities and participate in the elaboration of educational, training, and informative materials, sensitization of indigenous communities on gender and women’s rights, collect and disseminate success stories in different types of material and for different media according to the context; in the development of workshops for the use of digital equipment and design software tools; you will support CDRO creating institutional communications templates, prepare audiovisual awareness-raising material (videos, spots...), info graphics etc. for the dissemination of project results.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will live in a comfortable house in the central area of Totonicapán, with access to shops, markets, transportation (minibuses), pharmacies and services. Accommodation costs, electricity, water and internet service will be paid for by the organization. The volunteer will have a single room with working area. The apartment, with kitchen and common areas, is located on the second floor of a building and the owners live downstairs. The house is located 15 minutes away from CDRO office that can be reached by minibus or taxi.

Training during the activity

The Volunteer will attend an induction prior to her/his deployment. CDRO will be responsible for the Volunteer’s induction upon arrival which will include the introduction to CDRO team, objectives, programs and projects. The Volunteer will also be introduced to the communities he/she will be working with. Training during deployment will be offered to improve the volunteer’s skills and competences.

Participant profile

You have a degree in communication or digital media and are trained in media and marketing topics. You are a team-player, responsible and organized, with listening skills, with knowledge of general gender issues, education, community dynamics. You know how to develop audiovisual material such as posters, spots, radio spots, videos and documentaries. You enjoy and can work with communities providing training and workshops and have a fair knowledge of Spanish.
