Description
We are looking for 2 enthusiastic European Solidarity Corps volunteers to join Amicale Laïque de Dax! Choose between two meaningful missions that make a real difference in the local community. Mission 1: support children and teenagers through homework help, non-formal education, European mobility activities, and the inclusion of refugees and migrants. Help strengthen equal opportunities and intercultural understanding. Mission 2: promote sport, health and well-being by organising hiking, climbing and cooperative games in schools and leisure centres, while raising awareness about healthy lifestyles among children, young people and refugees. You will work with people aged 6 to 80, share your culture, develop your own ideas, improve your French and gain valuable personal and professional skills in a friendly and committed team.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
You will live in a fully equipped apartment in Dax city centre, close to shops and public transport. You will share the flat with other international ESC volunteers while having your own private bedroom. A free bus pass is provided for your daily commute. Food and pocket money are covered according to ESC rules, and your round-trip travel costs will be reimbursed based on the Erasmus+ distance bands.
Training during the activity
During your ESC experience, you will take part in the Arrival Training and Mid-Term Training organised by the French National Agency. You will also have access to the Online Language Support (OLS) platform to improve your French. Each year, we also try to organise French lessons with local volunteers. Throughout your mission, additional training opportunities will help you develop personal, professional and intercultural skills for your future.
Participant profile
Selection is based primarily on your motivation—no specific qualifications are required. We are looking for open-minded, enthusiastic and reliable volunteers who enjoy working with children, young people and diverse communities. Teamwork, creativity and a willingness to take initiative are important. Basic French is an advantage for everyday life and integration, but not essential. Your mission will take place in Dax, a friendly spa town in the south-west of France, offering a great quality of life and an authentic French experience.
