With their year long engagement with OBESSU, the volunteer will: - Gain valuable insights regarding school student activism and topics related to school student activism, membership, communications, EU-cofunded projects, and educational policy; - Have the opportunity to develop their competencies and skills working towards empowering, engaging and mobilising students and student unions; - Gain a better understanding of the work of the European Institutions, while supporting our efforts in bringing students and student unions towards them and the EU programmes, fostering our European identities and keeping it up to date with the challenges we live today; - Have the opportunity to create an impact on society, by engaging across the various activities and processes of OBESSU and its partner organisations;
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The participant will receive a financial subsidy of a maximum amount of 1300 EUR per month for the accommodation, local travel costs, food and pocket money. The host organisation (OBESSU) will support the volunteer in finding accommodation in Brussels. Travel costs to and from Brussels will be covered by OBESSU up to the amount of 309 EUR, and in accordance with the Erasmus+ distance calculator. Health insurance will be covered as part of the project for the entire duration of the volunteering period, the volunteer will have to ensure they have a European Health Insurance Card.
Participant profile
- Young person between the ages of 18 - 30; - Interested in living in and experiencing a highly international context; - Interested in working with and for young people and more precisely school students; - Motivated and creative individual interested in school student organizing and youth participation; - An individual willing to develop sector-specific skills and competences (with specific emphasis on membership and projects); - Willing to adapt to different situations and develop their own initiatives and projects (with the support of the rest of the office); - Good command of English and willing to develop their language skills; - Priority will be given to young people coming from disadvantaged backgrounds.
