Let's Live With Earth - European Solidarity Corps Volunteering Project 2026 Torres Vedras, Portugal

MASSIVEPARTICLE - ASSOCIAÇÃO

Torres Vedras, Portugal

Description

Let’s Live With Earth is a short term ESC volunteering project (17 Aug–30 Nov 2026) hosted by Live With Earth in Torres Vedras, Portugal, addressing urgent social and environmental challenges through community-based action and education. It aims to empower youth in climate action, sustainability, and circular economy by engaging them in local regenerative practices. Volunteers will take part in three immersive training cycles: EARTH TO BUILD (Natural Building Design Course), EARTH TO PLANT (Permaculture Design & Management), and EARTH TO COLOR (Natural Pigments & Eco-Arts). They will also be part of our team for daily tasks and supporting other activities and local partners. The project fosters skills in eco-construction, local resilience, design thinking, and social innovation, contributing to the EU Green Deal, New European Bauhaus, and the Sustainable Development Goals. We are inspired to share this journey together, discovering wonders of our region! Let's Live With Earth!

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The participants will be hosted in a private house of 3 bedrooms, with their own kitchen, toilet and living room. The house is located at one of our local partners, called "Escola Mãos na Terra", an alternative educational place, for childreen's camps and free time activities. It is located aprox. 1,5km from Live With Earth. Food will be provided for the participants and managed together, giving preference to local bio producers. Transports will be provided by our coordination, as well as info of local transports, and each volunteer has its own bicycle for each participant to ride and enjoy!

Training during the activity

During the opportunity, volunteers will receive hands-on training in Natural Building Design, Permaculture Management, Eco-Arts & Natural Pigments, and community living. They'll develop technical skills in regenerative practices and soft skills like teamwork, communication, creativity, adaptability, solidarity, and leadership. The experience will strengthen their capacity as active citizens, responsible professionals, and changemakers in future sustainable projects or organizations. They will also have the opportunity to learn how to live a more healthy and sustainable lifestyle.

Participant profile

We are looking for open-minded, motivated, and socially engaged young people (18–30 years old) who are curious about sustainability, design, nature, and community life. Ideal participants are ready to live in a rural environment, share tasks in a multicultural team, and contribute to meaningful climate and social action. No previous experience is required, but an interest in areas like eco-construction, permaculture, arts, event organization, or circular design is highly valued. Flexibility, creativity, and a positive attitude are essential, as is a willingness to learn, collaborate, and actively participate in all stages of the project.
