Maison de l'Europe des Landes WIPSEE
Pontonx sur l'Adour, France
Description
Looking for a meaningful European experience? Join WIPSEE and become part of an international team promoting European values, intercultural dialogue and youth participation in South-West France! As an ESC volunteer, you will organise creative workshops, facilitate language cafés, promote your culture and language, support activities on European citizenship, human rights, inclusion and sustainable development, and contribute to digital and communication projects such as podcasts, videos or social media content. You will meet children, young people and local residents while discovering French culture and sharing your own. At WIPSEE, volunteers are encouraged to develop personal initiatives linked to their interests and learning goals in a supportive and multicultural environment. 📖 Discover our Volunteer Info Pack: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vavFI7iUfgtZUGSuu9HL5PqarAFTErlk/view?usp=drive_link
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
You will have your own private bedroom in a shared student residence with other international ESC volunteers, while enjoying shared living spaces such as the kitchen and common areas. The residence is located in Dax (22,000 inhabitants), close to shops, cafés and public transport. Your volunteering activities will mainly take place in the rural village of Pontonx-sur-l'Adour. Pocket money, a food allowance and a local/regional bus pass are provided according to ESC rules. Practical information about accommodation, transport and daily life is available in our Volunteer Info Pack
Training during the activity
Learning is at the heart of your volunteering experience. Alongside the ESC Arrival Training and Mid-Term Evaluation organised by the French National Agency, WIPSEE offers French language support, individual mentoring, regular follow-up meetings, Youthpass guidance and internal training linked to your mission. You will continuously learn from the team, our partners and other volunteers while developing your own skills.
Participant profile
We are looking for motivated, open-minded and curious young people who are willing to engage in a meaningful volunteering experience and contribute to the local community. No specific qualifications are required, but volunteers should enjoy meeting new people, working with children, young people and diverse audiences, and sharing their own culture and language. We welcome participants who are creative, proactive, adaptable and interested in intercultural dialogue, European values, active citizenship, digital inclusion or educational activities. Volunteers should be willing to work as part of an international team, respect different cultures and actively participate in community life. A positive attitude, a willingness to learn and to take initiative are more important than previous experience. A basic level of French is appreciated to facilitate daily life and integration.
