Promotion and communication assistant for SCI Poland's office

STOWARZYSZENIE JEDEN SWIAT

POZNAN, Poland

Description

Stowarzyszenie Jeden Świat is a Polish branch of the international peace organization Service Civil International whose primary mission is building peace through volunteering and education. We invite you to support our work by exploring three pillars of peace (peace with others, peace with nature, and inner peace). You are going to work in our office in Poznań as part of our team, along with staff members, another ESC volunteer, and Polish volunteers in the local and regional community. Your tasks are going to encompass: -support in social media management, graphic and web design -organization of local events in Poznań -preparing and running workshops and meetings for youth in local schools on various topics -co-leading summer volunteering projects -assistance in running local and international trainings -support in everyday office tasks You are welcome to put forward any personal project/initiative that come to your mind. We will do our best to accommodate your ideas.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will share a fully-equipped flat with another participant and will have his/her own bedroom. The flat is located around 20 minutes by bus from the office. The volunteer receives a fixed amount of pocket money (6 euros/day) and a monthly support allowance. A city transport card is also provided.

Training during the activity

The volunteer will participate in the on-arrival and mid-term training delivered by the National Agency. In the first months of the project, we will organize training about SCI and peace education for all the volunteers, hosted by our partner organizations. It will be a good opportunity to get to know each other and find out more about Stowarzyszenie Jeden Świat and the SCI movement. Once a month, all the volunteers (some of them will be based outside Poznan) will come to our office in Poznań for a one- or two-day workshop/meeting.

Participant profile

We would be thrilled to host an open-minded young person with a positive attitude. Previous experience related to non-formal education and international training is welcome, but the most important thing is the willingness to learn new things and face up to new challenges. We are looking for a self-starter who is curious, open to new cultures, motivated, creative, likes to work in a team, and has his/her own initiative. Graphic and video-editing skills will be a huge plus, as well as knowledge of website development (in wordpress).
