Description

You will work in Primary School no 7 in Poznań, one of the oldest and most beautiful Polish cities. You will be engaged in a variety of tasks and activities, 35 hours per week, five days per week. You will actively participate in the activities that take place in the school such as: - Volunteering Club - Young European Club - School Community Room – where children stay after their lessons - Music Club - Bilingual English Classes – we cooperate with the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and the Irish Culture Foundation - eTwinning projects with schools from other countries - Students council club - Dalton class You will be supported by the school team (teachers, pedagogists, etc.) and will participate in team meetings. During summer you will co-lead a short-term volunteering project in Poland.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will share the flat with another participant, in a single room. The school is within walking distance from the flat, but you will be provided with the city transport card as well. You will receive a fixed amount of a monthly support allowance and pocket money.

Training during the activity

You will participate in the on-arrival and mid-term training delivered by the National Agency. In the first months of the project, we will organize training about SCI and peace education for all the volunteers, hosted by our partner organizations. It will be a good opportunity to get to know each other and find out more about Stowarzyszenie Jeden Świat and the SCI movement. Once a month all the volunteers (some of them will be based outside Poznan) will come to our office in Poznań for a one-day workshop/meeting.

Participant profile

We are looking for you if you like working with children and you want to gain or improve some skills in non-formal education. You may have previous experience as an educator, or it may be just your passion. The most important thing is that you are willing to learn, you’re patient, open-minded, sociable, creative, and that you are a good team player. You will help in different activities, and the determination to speak Polish and English is more than welcome.
