Description
Join Proyecto Kieu and become part of our local youth centres! As a volunteer, you will support young people aged 12–20 by helping to create a welcoming, safe and active space where they can learn, meet others and develop new ideas. Your tasks may include supporting daily activities, helping to organise workshops, games, cultural and community events, encouraging young people's participation, and assisting with communication and creative projects. You will work together with experienced youth workers and other volunteers, while also having the opportunity to develop your own ideas and lead activities based on your interests and skills. No previous experience is required—only motivation, openness and a willingness to learn.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers live in a shared house owned by Proyecto Kieu, located next to our office and within walking distance of local services. Bedrooms are shared with one other volunteer, while the kitchen, bathrooms and common areas are shared with the rest of the team of volunteers. A monthly allowance is provided to cover food and local transport related to the activities. Travel to and from Spain is reimbursed according to the European Solidarity Corps distance bands. Training during the activity
Volunteers receive continuous support throughout their experience. During the first days, Proyecto Kieu organises an on-arrival training to help volunteers settle in, get to know the team, understand their tasks and discover the local community. In addition, all volunteers participate in the official On-Arrival Training organised by the Spanish National Agency of the European Solidarity Corps, where they meet other ESC volunteers and learn more about the programme.
Participant profile
We are looking for volunteers aged 18–30 who are legally eligible to participate in the European Solidarity Corps. You should be motivated to work with young people, proactive, open-minded and willing to take initiative. Spanish is not required, but you should be motivated to learn it. We value people who are happy to lead activities and share their interests, whether in music, dance, theatre, sports, games, cooking, art or any other hobby. Previous volunteering experience, even at local level, is an asset but not required. We especially encourage applications from young people with fewer opportunities.
