Description

Join an international team of volunteers in Sliven, Bulgaria, and make a positive impact on the local community. Together with young people from different countries, you will organise community activities, non-formal education workshops, awareness campaigns and initiatives promoting social inclusion, equality, active citizenship and solidarity. Volunteers will work closely with local youth, schools, community centres and civil society organisations, while developing teamwork, communication, leadership and intercultural skills. This volunteering team offers an opportunity to learn, create friendships and contribute to meaningful social change through collective action.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will be accommodated in shared rooms in Sliven, Bulgaria, with all essential facilities, including internet, kitchen and laundry. The hosting organisation will provide meals or a food allowance, pocket money, local transport related to project activities and reimbursement of international travel costs according to the European Solidarity Corps Programme Guide. All practical arrangements will be organised before arrival to ensure a comfortable and safe stay.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will receive on-arrival training, continuous mentoring and daily support throughout the activity. They will participate in workshops on teamwork, intercultural learning, non-formal education, social inclusion and active citizenship. Reflection sessions will help volunteers evaluate their learning and personal development. Participants will also take part in the European Solidarity Corps training cycle organised by the National Agency and receive a Youthpass Certificate upon completion of the activity.

Participant profile

We are looking for enthusiastic young people aged 18–30 who enjoy teamwork, intercultural learning and community engagement. No previous volunteering experience is required. We welcome motivated, responsible and open-minded participants who are willing to contribute to group activities, support local communities and learn through non-formal education. Young people with fewer opportunities are especially encouraged to apply.
