Centrum ds.Katastrof i Klesk Zywiolowych TRATWA
Wrocław, Poland
Description
Join TRATWA for a one-year ESC volunteering experience in Poland combining culture, community work, and humanitarian action. TRATWA runs two cultural centres and a humanitarian support centre, giving volunteers the opportunity to develop their skills and explore their potential. The main focus of the project is communication and social media. Volunteers will create content, develop our online presence, reach new audiences, and share stories about TRATWA’s activities. They will also support cultural and community events, learning about organisation, teamwork, and event management. We encourage volunteers to bring their own ideas and create initiatives such as workshops, language cafés, poetry meetings, youth activities, or activities with seniors. Volunteers can share their passions while developing new skills. This project is for people who want to learn through experience, become more independent, and gain confidence in taking initiative and gain confidence in taking initiative.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
After coming to Wrocław, we will provide fully furnished and equipped apartments which have good connections to the workplace. The volunteer should be ready to share the room with another volunteer of the same gender and the living space with other volunteers. To give full independence to the volunteer a card for public transport will be provided at the beginning of the project and every month pocket money and food allowance will be transferred to the volunteer's account.
Training during the activity
The project will offer a variety of activities designed to help volunteers develop a broad range of skills and knowledge. They will learn how to collaborate effectively, becoming a cohesive and supportive team while overcoming cultural differences and other potential challenges. Volunteers will also take part in Polish language classes and experience both non-formal and informal education through engaging training sessions. Throughout the project, they will gain valuable practical skills in areas such as social engagement, environmental awareness, and community building.
Participant profile
The project is looking for open-minded, creative, and motivated volunteers who want to develop their skills while actively contributing to TRATWA’s activities. Volunteers should be interested in communication, social media, event organisation, and working with different groups of people. They will have the opportunity to improve their digital, organisational, and teamwork skills while learning how to plan activities and take responsibility for their own ideas. Volunteers should be willing to share their passions, show initiative, and participate in activities such as workshops, cultural events, youth activities, or meetings with seniors. Throughout the project, they will develop independence, confidence, intercultural communication skills, and the ability to cooperate in a diverse international team.
