Community Camping & Biodiversity

INTERNATIONALE BEGEGNUNG IN GEMEINSCHAFTSDIENSTEN e.V.

STUTTGART, Germany

Description

You work on an orchard full of old fruit trees who are homes to a biodiversity of animals, plants, and fungi, and a very important agro-cultural heritage. Work involves cutting off dead branches and harvest the fruits which are used to produce a famous local most. Professionals will introduce you to this important protective work of biodiverse orchards and assist you on site. Together with the forest rangers there's additional work in the surrounding woods. Another special work place is the bio-cultural arboretum of the area where you support maintaining exotic trees and bushes.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

This is a do-it-yourself camp! You have a huge campsite for your own. One or two big jurts will be available for sleeping, individual small tents are possible. You absolutely need to bring a warm (!) sleeping bag, an isolating matress (thick or self-inflating), a pillow if you like, and your personal hygiene stuff incl. towel(s). Next to the campsite is a big farm whose bathrooms, showers, and cleaning area are available to you. A large "bad weater shack" provides lots of space for freetime activities, setting up kitchen, and dinner tables. The next town is only 15min by car.
