Description
Build with Earth & Wood is a 25-day ESC Team experience at the Evergreen Project, a regenerative community in the mountains of Central Greece.
Together we will build with wood, cob and natural materials, creating meaningful structures while learning traditional and sustainable building techniques. Volunteers will participate in woodworking, earth construction, gardening, environmental care and everyday community life.
Beyond practical work, this experience is about reconnecting with nature, living simply and learning through collaboration. Daily life includes shared meals, community meetings, yoga sessions, creative workshops and time spent in the forest.
If you enjoy hands-on work, outdoor living and meeting people from different cultures, this project offers the opportunity to develop practical green skills, teamwork, creativity and self-confidence while contributing to a real regenerative initiative.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will stay at the Evergreen Project in shared eco-accommodation surrounded by forest, in bell tents and a handcrafted cob house, with compost toilets, outdoor showers, spring water, a shared kitchen, and yoga decks. Vegetarian meals are provided daily, with vegan and dietary options available.Accommodation, food, local transport, pocket money, and travel reimbursement are fully covered by the ESC programme.
Training during the activity
Participants will receive an introduction to the Evergreen Project, safety procedures and community life. They will learn practical skills in natural building with wood and cob, basic woodworking and sustainable construction methods. Daily reflection, mentoring, yoga and teamwork will enrich the experience. During the final weekend, participants will join the community in closing the summer season by dismantling and storing the bell tents for the winter, celebrating everything created together.

We are looking for motivated young people aged 18–30 who are curious, open-minded and willing to live and work in a community. No previous experience in natural building is required—only a willingness to learn, collaborate and get your hands dirty. Volunteers should enjoy outdoor life, respect diversity and be ready to contribute to shared responsibilities. A basic level of English is recommended to communicate within the international team.
