Description
Join a team of five international volunteers for 37 days in Sofia and help create opportunities for displaced Ukrainian young people rebuilding their lives in Bulgaria. You will work on real projects that combine creativity, communication, and social impact. Your tasks may include updating our website, designing social media templates, researching fundraising platforms, contributing ideas for campaigns, supporting the preparation of Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps project proposals, and helping organize employability and entrepreneurship workshops for young people.
This is a hands-on opportunity to develop practical skills in digital communication, project development, event organization, and teamwork while experiencing life in one of Europe's most vibrant capitals. Together, you will learn, create, and contribute to projects that make a tangible difference in the lives of others.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will stay in a shared, fully furnished apartment in the center of Sofia. Each participant will have a private bedroom and share the kitchen, living room, and bathroom with the rest of the group. A monthly food allowance, pocket money, and a public transport card covering travel within Sofia will be provided. The accommodation is within easy reach of the volunteering venue, shops, parks, and cultural attractions, making it easy to explore the city during free time.
Training during the activity
Volunteers will receive training throughout the activity to support both their personal and professional development. Sessions will cover career orientation, entrepreneurship, media literacy, project writing, and green skills, alongside practical workshops on digital communication, fundraising, and non-formal education. Participants will also benefit from mentoring, regular reflection sessions, and Youthpass support to help recognize and document the competences they develop during the experience.
Participant profile
We are looking for curious, proactive, and motivated young people aged 18–29 who are interested in communication, digital media, project development, entrepreneurship, or the nonprofit sector. You do not need previous experience, but you should be willing to learn, take initiative, work in an international team, and contribute your own ideas. Basic digital skills and a decent command of English are important, while experience with social media, graphic design, website management, fundraising, or event organization is an advantage but not required.
This opportunity is particularly suitable for participants who want to gain practical experience in communications, project writing, and community engagement while supporting displaced Ukrainian youth. We value creativity, reliability, openness to different cultures, and a positive, solution-oriented attitude. Volunteers should be comfortable working in a dynamic environment where tasks vary from day to day and teamwork is essential.
