Autumnlife in Ecovillage
Pospolitost pre harmonicky zivot
Pliešovce, Slovakia
Description
We are looking for a team of 8 volunteers to live and work together for 3 weeks. The project will take place in the countryside, where autumn becomes an important part of our everyday experience.
During the project, volunteers will take part in a variety of practical, creative and community-based activities. We will care for our sheep and chickens, help with everyday animal care and maintenance, and contribute to the work in our permaculture garden. Depending on the season, this may include harvesting, preparing garden beds, caring for plants, processing food and learning about sustainable gardening methods.
We will work a lot with wool and wood, discovering traditional techniques and creating useful or creative products together. Cooking and baking with seasonal ingredients will be another important part of the project.
We will organise intercultural evenings, group discussions, games, reflection activities, outdoor activities and relaxed moments around a fire or shared seasonal meals.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteers will stay at Kocka, a community house located in the countryside of Zaježová, a small eco-community surrounded by nature. Kocka is a simple shared house that provides a space for volunteers to live, work and spend time together. The house has shared rooms and common spaces where volunteers can cook, eat, relax and connect with each other. Living at Kocka is not only about accommodation – it is an important part of the project experience. Volunteers share everyday responsibilities, take care of the common spaces and have the opportunity to become part of the local community.

Participant profile
We are looking for 8 open-minded, responsible and curious young people who enjoy spending time in nature and are interested in community life, sustainable living and practical activities.
No previous experience with farming, animals, gardening, crafts or permaculture is required. What matters most is a willingness to learn, get involved and try new things. Participants should be ready to take part in everyday tasks, work together as a team and share responsibilities such as cooking, cleaning, caring for animals and helping in the garden.
We especially welcome people who are interested in WOOL, WOOD and FOOD, traditional crafts, seasonal living and learning practical skills. Since we will be living together for three weeks, openness, respect, good communication and willingness to cooperate are important.
You don't need to be an expert – just bring your curiosity, positive attitude and willingness to get your hands dirty! 🌱🐑🪵
