Description

This volunteering project is hosted by the Pollença Youth Office (Oficina de Joventut de Pollença) with the aim of fostering local youth engagement, promoting language exchange, and supporting social inclusion within the municipality. The volunteer will become an integral part of the daily operations of the youth center, contributing to direct community intervention, non-formal education, and administrative support.

Key Lines of Action & Responsibilities

  • Administrative & Office Support 
  • Non-Formal Language Learning (English Conversation Workshops)
    •  English conversation workshops for local youth.
  • Social Inclusion & Targeted Support (Monitor for Children with Challenging Behaviors)
    • Mentor in educational/recreational activities tailored for children and teenagers presenting conflictive or challenging behaviors.
  • Youth Leisure & Recreation (Weekend & Summer Activity Monitor)
    • Facilitating and co-leading youth leisure and recreational activities during weekends and school breaks.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accommodation, Financial Support 

  • Accommodation: The volunteer will be provided with a private bedroom in a shared apartment, fully equipped with standard living amenities.
  • Financial Allowance (€400/month): A total monthly allowance of €400 will be provided to cover food expenses and personal pocket money.
  • Utility Bills Covered: All household utility expenses (electricity, water, gas, and internet) are fully covered by the hosting program.
  • Transportation: Local travel and transportation costs related to the project activities will be fully covered or reimbursed by the organization.
Training during the activity

Language Learning & Training Opportunities

  • Spanish Language Classes: The volunteer will attend weekly Spanish classes at the local Adult Education Center.
  • On-Arrival Training: A mandatory 1-week training seminar organized by the Spanish National Agency. This session serves as an introduction to the project framework, intercultural learning, and networking with other international volunteers.
  • Mid-Term Evaluation: A mandatory 1-week mid-term training session,  organized by the NA, designed to assess project progress, evaluate learning outcomes.
