Start Something Real: Shape How Europe Opens Its Outdoors to Everyone

ЮРОПИЪН АУТДОР ПОРТАЛ

Chavdar, Bulgaria

Description

Join EIOPE in Chavdar, a mountain village in Bulgaria, and help shape inclusive outdoor policy for Europe — from the very start. This is a founding moment:you'll help build the infrastructure of a young European foundation working to open outdoor spaces to everyone.Your main focus: developing EIOPE's brand identity and logo, building out outdoorportal.eu as a European hub for inclusive outdoor resources, and strengthening our network of NGOs, researchers, and municipalities across borders. Alongside this, you'll co-design and try out inclusive outdoor activities with local children, youth, and people with fewer opportunities — putting the values you're building for into practice. Two teams of 5 volunteers each. No expertise needed — curiosity, initiative, and teamwork are what count. Bonus skills: graphic design, web development, communication, experience with diverse groups, environmental education. You'll leave with portfolio pieces, hands-on experience, and a Youthpass certificate.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accommodation and meals are fully covered in Chavdar village (~60 km east of Sofia, rural mountain setting). Assistance and cover of local tranposration. Each volunteer receives pocket money at the ESC rate for Bulgaria. Travel costs between your place of residence and the venue are reimbursed according to ESC distance bands. Green transportation is encouraged and also covered.

Training during the activity

On-arrival training covers project objectives, inclusive outdoor methodologies, teamwork, intercultural learning, and safety. Each volunteer receives structured mentoring and a personal learning plan throughout the activity. Daily reflection sessions and team debriefs are integrated into the programme. Intercultural evenings and group activities complement the learning. All volunteers receive a Youthpass certificate. Working language: English. We have French speaking stafff member.
