ASOCIACION JUVENIL INTER

JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA, Spain

Description

AJ Inter is a youth organisation based in Jerez de la Frontera, Andalusia, Spain, working with young people through local and international projects. We are looking for a motivated volunteer who would like to become an active member of our team and discover the world of youth work and non-formal education.

During your volunteering, you will have the opportunity to support and develop activities for young people, including language clubs, school activities, workshops, movie nights, cultural activities and other initiatives. We encourage volunteers to bring their own ideas and creativity and to develop activities based on their interests and the needs of local young people.

You will also contribute to our social media, create content about our projects and activities, and help promote Erasmus+, the European Solidarity Corps and other European opportunities. You also participate in preparing posters, flyers and brochures, editing videos and contributing to the AJ Inter Journal.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will be accommodated in a flat with other ESC volunteers or with Spanish university students. The flat is fully equipped with 4 separate bedrooms, a shared kitchen, dining room & bathrooms. Each person will have its own bedroom.  The host organization takes in charge the costs of the accommodation. Each volunteer will have their own bicycles and they will be using it as transportation tool. Home is located close to the center and it will be a 15 to 20 minutes bicycle ride to our office. Volunteers will be receiving pocket money and food allowance.

Training during the activity

The volunteer will learn about Erasmus+ opportunities and gain practical experience in international project management, youth work and non-formal education. They will also learn through teamwork and daily activities with the AJ Inter team. The Spanish National Agency will provide an On-Arrival Training and a Mid-Term Evaluation during the volunteering period, supporting the volunteer’s personal and professional development and offering opportunities to meet and exchange experiences with other ESC volunteers.

Participant profile

The ideal participant is curious about different cultures, enjoys meeting new people and is willing to actively participate in the life of the local community.

We value creativity, initiative and a willingness to take responsibility. The volunteer should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, communicating with people from different backgrounds and contributing their own ideas to activities and projects. We are looking for open-minded, creative and responsible young people who speak English or Spanish and want to improve their soft skills. Knowledge about social media & basic video editing and creative mind will be useful in this volunteering project.

The volunteers should have an interest in youth work and be eager to work in an office where we prepare activities, respond to emails and promote Erasmus+ projects through social media. This project is meant for young people who would like to gain experience, learn new skills and connect with other volunteers from all over Europe.

We encourage volunteers to take initiative and bring their own ideas. If you have an activity, workshop, campaign or creative idea that you would like to develop during your volunteering period, we will be happy to support you in making it happen.
